By booking a training session, class, consultation or other service with The Dog Coach UK, you agree to the following Terms & Conditions.

These terms are designed to make sure that training is safe, enjoyable and beneficial for both dogs and their owners. Your statutory consumer rights are not affected by these terms.

 

Professional Standards

The Dog Coach UK is committed to providing professional, ethical and welfare-focused dog training.

I am a fully insured dog trainer and hold appropriate public liability insurance for the services I provide.

I am also DBS checked, supporting my commitment to providing a professional and responsible service to clients and their families.

Training Approach

The Dog Coach UK follows the ethical, force-free and science-based principles of the Institute of Modern Dog Trainers (IMDT).

​

Training will focus on reward-based methods and positive reinforcement. I do not use methods or equipment intended to cause pain, fear or physical or emotional discomfort.

I will always work within my professional knowledge and experience and may recommend referral to a veterinary professional, behaviourist or another suitably qualified professional where appropriate.

Bookings and Payment

All sessions must be booked in advance.

Payment is required at the time of booking unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Your booking is confirmed once payment has been received.

Prices are those displayed or quoted at the time of booking. The Dog Coach UK reserves the right to change prices for future bookings.

Cancellations and Rescheduling

I understand that plans can change. If you need to cancel or reschedule a session, please provide at least 48 hours' notice. Where sufficient notice is given, your session may be rearranged or, where applicable, a refund may be offered.

Cancellations made with less than 48 hours' notice, or failure to attend a booked session, may result in the session being charged in full.

Exceptions may be made at my discretion for genuine emergencies or unexpected circumstances.

Group classes and courses may have different cancellation terms, which will be explained at the time of booking.

Packages

Where a training package is purchased, the sessions included must be used within the agreed period stated at the time of purchase.

Packages are intended for the dog and owner for whom they were purchased and are not transferable unless agreed in advance.

If you are unable to complete a package due to circumstances beyond your control, please contact me to discuss your options.

Your Responsibility

You remain responsible for your dog at all times during training.

You must provide accurate and honest information about your dog's behaviour, health, history and circumstances. This includes informing me of any previous incidents involving aggression, biting, guarding or behaviour that could present a risk to people or other animals.

You must follow reasonable safety instructions given during training.

You are responsible for ensuring that your dog is appropriately vaccinated and protected against contagious diseases where required for the training environment.

If your dog is unwell, injured or showing signs of illness, please do not attend a group class or session without contacting me first.

Safety

Dog training involves working with animals and there is always some degree of risk.

I will take reasonable steps to provide a safe training environment, but dogs can behave unpredictably.

For everyone's safety, I reserve the right to pause, alter or end a session if I believe that a situation is becoming unsafe for a dog, person or another animal.

Where necessary, I may recommend additional professional support before continuing training.

Children

Children are welcome to be involved in training where appropriate.

An adult must remain responsible for supervising children at all times.

Children should not be left responsible for handling a dog during a session unless specifically agreed with me.

Training Results

Every dog is an individual and training results can vary.

I will provide professional guidance, training plans and support based on the information available to me, but I cannot guarantee a particular behaviour or outcome.

Successful training depends on many factors, including the dog's individual needs, the environment and the consistency with which training is continued at home.

Equipment

Any equipment recommended will be selected with the dog's welfare, comfort and individual needs in mind. Clients are responsible for ensuring that their dog's equipment remains correctly fitted and in good condition. If you are unsure how to use any equipment, please ask before using it.

Dogs Showing Aggression or Other Behavioural Concerns

Please provide full and honest information about any behavioural concerns before your session.

This allows me to assess whether I am able to safely and appropriately support you and your dog.

Where a dog's needs fall outside my professional scope, I may recommend referral to a veterinary professional, qualified behaviourist or another appropriate professional.

This is not a judgement of you or your dog; it is simply about making sure you receive the most appropriate support.

Illness and Emergencies

If you or your dog are unwell, particularly where there is a risk of passing an infectious illness to others, please contact me before attending.

I may ask you not to attend a session if I believe there is a risk to other dogs, owners or myself.

If I need to cancel a session due to illness, emergency, severe weather or circumstances outside my reasonable control, I will provide as much notice as reasonably possible and offer an alternative date where possible.

Weather and Outdoor Training

Some training may take place outdoors.

For the welfare of the dogs, sessions may need to be postponed or moved indoors due to extreme heat, extreme cold, storms, flooding or other unsuitable conditions.

Where possible, I will offer an alternative date or arrangement.

Photography and Video

From time to time, photographs or videos may be taken during training sessions or classes for training records, educational purposes or promotional material.

Photography and video used for marketing or promotional purposes will only be used where you have provided separate consent.

You can choose whether or not to give this consent, and choosing not to give consent will not affect your ability to use The Dog Coach UK's services.

You can withdraw your consent at any time by contacting me.

Where consent has been given, The Dog Coach UK may use images or video containing you and/or your dog on its website, social media, advertising and other promotional materials.

I will take reasonable steps to avoid identifying personal information being published alongside promotional images without your permission.

Confidentiality

Information you provide about yourself, your family or your dog will be treated respectfully and confidentially.

There may be circumstances where information needs to be shared where required by law or where necessary to protect the safety or welfare of a person or animal.

Liability

Every reasonable care will be taken during training sessions, but The Dog Coach UK cannot accept responsibility for injury, illness, loss or damage arising from circumstances outside my reasonable control. I am fully insured. You remain responsible for your dog and for following safety instructions during and after training sessions. Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.

Complaints

I want you to be happy with the service you receive.

If you have a concern or complaint, please contact me as soon as possible so that I have the opportunity to understand what has happened and resolve the matter fairly.

Changes to These Terms

The Dog Coach UK may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time.

The version that applies to your booking will be the version in place at the time you make your booking, unless changes are required by law or are otherwise agreed with you.

The latest version will be available on the website.

Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

Any disputes will first be approached with the aim of resolving the matter fairly and amicably.

Acceptance

By booking a service with The Dog Coach UK, you confirm that you have read and understood these Terms & Conditions and agree to be bound by them.

Your statutory consumer rights are not affected by these Terms & Conditions.
